The Mt. Healthy School Board is moving forward with a plan to put a levy on the ballot this November to help chip away at its budget deficit, which was recently projected to reach $90 million by the 2028 fiscal year if changes aren't made.

Parents and teachers packed the room during Mt. Healthy's School Board meeting on Monday night to express their concerns and frustration with the district's financial situation.

The auditor's office describes a fiscal emergency as "the last and most severe stage of a school district's financial solvency problems."

The district says it decided to make the move to protect its operational and financial stability.
