Northern Kentucky residents can drop off household hazardous waste items at a collection event Saturday in Florence.
It takes places from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at UC Health Center (former Freedom Center) at 58 Cavelier Blvd.
The drop off is for residents of Boone, Kenton and Campbell counties. Participants must for the event.
“It gives people an opportunity to get rid of stuff the safe way and at no cost to the residents,” said Roger Wells in a statement. Wells is the Director of Solid Waste Management, Kenton County.
Only the following items will be accepted:
- Aerosol cans
- Antifreeze
- Batteries (all types)
- Corrosives
- Flammables
- E-scraps (computers, monitors, keyboards, printers, cell phones)
- Ink/toner cartridges
- Light bulbs
- Motor oil
- Pesticides
- Propane tanks (20 lbs. only)
- Televisions
- Documents for paper shredding
- Paint
The drop off is annual and always takes place at the end of the summer/beginning of the fall season.
