Tips To Avoid Tick, Mosquito And Flea Bites This Summer

Ticks and mosquitos are more than just a summer nuisance, they can pose serious health risks.

A recent report from the shows diseases transmitted through the bites of ticks, mosquitoes and fleas are a "growing public health problem" in the United States, with reported cases of what are called vector-borne diseases more than tripling nationwide since 2004.   

According to the , the most common diseases caused by tick bites in the state include Lyme disease and Rocky Mountain spotted fever. The most common diseases caused by mosquito bites include West Nile virus and La Crosse virus.
