About a third of Cincinnati residents and almost half of the city?'s children are living in poverty, according to the and . This number has gone up significantly in the last five years and is double that of national rates.

Nonprofit organization is trying to eliminate poverty in the Tri-State area. Using a network of job services and employer partnerships, Cincinnati Works helps individuals find employment so they can become self-sufficient and provide for their children.
